Dionysus
This morning, I awoke in my own bed instead of in some dreamy grove of our making
It took me a moment to wrestle with my mind, filled with memories of a living dream
Abundance of what could be, spilled from pockets sewn with wishes and love, which kept us fed
Tucked away amongst the trees, psilocybin whispered secrets, unveiling remembered futures
On floorboards worn, cabin walls vibrated with stories and laughter, which kept us housed
A circle was cast, not of salt, but of desires and an innate knowing spoken only by our eyes
Our bones, etched with sigils of the ineffable, were longing to throw off this world's restraints
Together our magic multiplied, we raised our chalices, toasting to future promises, which kept us sated
There was no mystery there, but a hesitation that eludes me still, keeps me wanting…
…to be in that space where gender melts like honey on sun-kissed cheeks
A bittersweet parting until we return, when we swim further into the shadows, to bend space and time
Ours is an incantation, a secret language in the tilt of our heads, powerful as a Bacchanal baptism
